In addition to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Deborah earned a Diploma in Sculpture at Ottawa School of Art. She studied dance and music at Bennington College in Vermont, theater direction and production at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, and was involved in the summer studio program at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Over a number of years she kept studio residences in Pietrasanta, Italy where she worked intensively in traditional materials such as Carrara marble. She is a member of the Sculpture Society of Canada, the International Sculpture Center, Washington, DC, and the National Capital Network of Sculptors, Ottawa. Deborah’s studio is located in the historic Thoburn Mill in Almonte, Ontario.
